Mandarin Leader Honoree 2018(May 11, 2018) Cross-cultural communications strategist Dottie Tiejun Li is recognized by Mandarin Leader as a Mandarin Leader 2018 in America.

To be a Mandarin Leader, individuals and organizations must demonstrate creativity and altruism among individuals of Chinese heritage in North America.

The criteria for the annual recognition are unique. Honorees must be of Chinese heritage, they must reside in North America, and they must exhibit creative and/or altruistic qualities. They come from many backgrounds. But they all have created something out of nothing, taken risks and displayed leadership. Mandarin Leader is not a list of people making money. It is a list of people making a difference.

“It is a great honor to be included in this year’s Mandarin Leader class, and to be in the company of these inspiring leaders from across America,” said Dottie Li. “It’s actually a humbling experience, and I thank my beloved Chinese American community for the support and trust they have given me throughout the years. This award inspires me to do more and to better serve my community in the DC metro area.”

This is the first year that Mandarin Leader has included honorees from the DC metro area, which includes suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia.
